Working group meeting on water management Siberia

Target audience: farmers who own or manage parcels of land in the area of Siberia (Pear).

Please indicate your presence or that of your deputy to confirm via e-mail (leen.gruyters@boerennatuur.be) or by phone/text message (0476 46 21 57).

Agenda items

  • Weir placements by Watering De Dommelvallei: now that the permit for the weir placements was finally obtained, a brief update around the weirs in the area is given.
  • Project Weir Viewer with Impact:
    - an initial state of affairs
    - proposal extension of current monitoring campaign
  • To facilitate weir management, we wish to measure the water level in the canals using monitoring wells. Thanks to the Digistuw project, the water level readings will be collected real-time in a dashboard that will be made accessible to interested farmers. This will allow you to consult the water levels yourself at any time or be automatically alerted in case of a certain level. A first version of this dashboard is proposed by designer Sumaqua.Ā
  • Miscellaneous & questions: data exchange and Op-Peil project, ...

Your input is obviously important and any comments will be taken into account. The project team therefore looks forward to hearing from you.Ā
On behalf of the project partners:

  • City of Peer (alderman Dirk Colaers)
  • Boerennatuur Vlaanderen (Steve Meuris & Leen Gruyters)
  • Soil Science Service of Belgium (Marthe Michielsen)
  • KULeuven (Lise Piepers)
